Scoring

Scoring in Rugby is when you touch the ball down in the opponent’s “in goal” area known as the “try.” (4 points in the Rugby Union and 3 points in the Rugby League) The “try” is equivalent to the American footballs touchdown. Another way of scoring is a place-kicking which is worth 2 points. A “free” or penalty kick for a goal is worth 3 points in Rugby Union and 2 points in Rugby League. Then with a drop kicking the ball during play and that is worth 3 points. (Richardson)
